A half double crochet (hdc) is halfway between a single crochet and a double crochet. It’s great for blankets and scarves if you still want a tighter stitch look.
To make a half double crochet:
- Yarn over and insert hook (3 loops)
- Yarn over and pull through one (3 loops)
- Yarn over and pull through three loops (1 loop)
