How To: Adding Safety Eyes

Safety eyes are an easy way to make your crochet pieces 10x more adorable. Safety eyes come in two parts – one part being the black piece that’s the actual eye and the second part being the back washer which is usually tan or white.

To attach a safety eye, place the black, round part in the front of your piece. You’re going to stick the pointy side through the layer of crochet (note: safety eyes need to be added before the piece is complete. You need access to the inside or back of the piece). Place the washer on the back side and make sure when you push it down, it will be flush with the piece (the dome shape should face into the yarn). Push the washer to the black piece and make sure it clicks and it will not fall off.
